Cafe Vega @ Couva/Pt Lisas Health/Agri Expo

Visitors to the Couva/Point Lisas Chamber of Commerce's  Health/Agri Expo held during 20-21st May, 2017 were introduced to Cafe Vega roasted coffee. A few previous Cafe Vega clients were also visitors to the booth and they made sure to stock up on packages of ground or whole bean coffee which were on discount, specially for the exposition.

Setting up the booth...

Early customer gets the first brew of the morning!

...and the rush begins for that flavourful caffeine fix!

So what did I learn from this experience...

  1. Visitors from Couva and environs who were serious non-instant coffee drinkers were few.
  2. More people were interested in and purchased one (or a few) cups of coffee.
  3. Customers who purchased packages of roasted coffee preferred ground coffee (many also did not have coffee brewing appliances).
  4. The majority of coffee preferred by these customers were the dark roast.
  5. More than 80% of the visitors to the booth were unaware that locally produced and roasted coffee was still available in Trinidad.
The last response above, suggests that local coffee roasters still need to do a lot of work in promoting local coffee.
